So, by the miracles that will never cease, after battling a cold for several days thanks to lizzie aka

and my new sewing machine we managed to complete the duster in time for the con along with her making the sleeves for it. I ended up having to temporarily put the wings on the back of the duster the day of the con and the skirt didn't get finished so I used a backup that I had. It was a fun weekend. I'll post some pictures of the costume after I finish sewing the wings properly on to the back (and not taped on with double-sided tape with a few stitches like currently!) and actually sewing up the skirt. Might as well since I have the rest of the week off. I also think I'm going to fix how I hemmed one of the sleeves since it looks a bit odd on the one side. Who knows I might even try to dye the duster the correct color (of course testing it on some leftover fabric first lol!)
Not bad for my first costume. And somebody actually wanted to take a picture of it. 0.o
After all that is done, I'm going to be helping my sister

with her costume which is one of sakura's costumes she wears in the chess world from tsubasa reservoir chronicle for the anime festival in september (hopefully I can get friday off and we'll go late friday and saturday or just saturday) in the city as well as work on my next costume for pax east 2010 in boston which is the final form of midna from legend of zelda twilight princess. It looks be challenging but I figure I'm giving myself quite a few months to do it. Lets just hope I don't procrastinate like last time.
That and I hope to have some more pictures that I took using my cell phone camera of the hudson river while on the train. We'll see.
